My 06 900 blew up today. Whats the best way to go about rebuilding it? Who should i go through for parts? And what about these 975?

Do you know what the problem was or how involved you have to get?

Total motor from the cases up or what?

No idea whats all damaged yet. Motor is locked tight. Was starting to shread belts. Really like the sled so just seeing if its worth rebuilding and keeping or send it down the road. No idea how much money i can spend but want to build it right.

You can get the updated crank kit for around 800. two new pistons will run you another 200. If your cases are junk figure on another 450. And you might need a new cylinder too.

Or you could take a chance on one of the complete engines on ebay but no guarantee on them running very long.

If you got the money and you want to keep your sled a long time then you could get IndyDan to to a TM1 crank for you for around 1500, plus cylinder, plus pistons.

If you really want is bullet proof and can afford it you can get the TM3 bottom end. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pola...owmobileQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2200wt_1165

I see your in MN, you should just send it to Dan. I just dropped mine off the other day. He did a jetski motor for me and I couldn't be any happier with his work. :face-icon-small-hap

How do i get a hold of Indydan and where is he located? Plus what is the purpose of cleaning out your injectors and what else should i do?

Check out the post on here by kraven, brand new 900 motor still in the plastic for 900 bucks. Not sure if its an 05 or 06 but if its for real that would be the cheapest route

clean injectors and test them to make sure they were not damaged when your engine failed. Or that they were not the cause. It would suck big time to put a new motor in a have it blow up because your injectors were not working right.
