Not sure what kind of special puller i need to remove the stator on my 03 summit 8oo ho but just bent the crap outta my 50 dollar princess auto steering wheel type puller. Still hasnt popped loose yet
i just did mine yesterday and it is a *****. When you have tightened the "steering wheel type puller" as much as you can Remove your socket and hit the end with a hammer as hard as you can. It is a tappered bolt so you need to give it a few good wacks to get it off. Yesterday was my first time doing it and i was just about to give up untill i pulled out the trusty hammer.
Hey Wheeler, get the right tools dude, that ain't a chevy! If you shredded your recoil, make sure you get all the crap out of there and test your pickups before you zip everything up. Later,

Dude NEVER hit the end of a crankshaft with a hammer, even if its on the end of a puller, you can throw the crank out and cause bigger problems. with the right puller it will come off in the chassis. A auto type harmonic balancer puller will work if you have one. If you have to buy one the ski-doo one works best.
