Been looking for a short in the wirings. Checked everywhere I can think of with no luck. Have the seat and tank off and see no problems. hows the best way to check the handwarmers? Can I just unplug them and start it up and see if the problem continues. Just turning the hand warmers off and on don't seem to make a difference. I see they have a new # for the VR. Is it the same part with a new # or a new and better VR? This is a 06 600 so I shouldnt have an issue with frying the ECM.

Look at the whirring by the secondary. Mine came loose and got a short. I had to rewire and all was good.

troubleshooting VR and Stator. 06 600 rmk

Started it up after checking all the wiring. One bar showing on the MFD voltage gauge. Unplugged all the hand and thumb warmers. No change. If I would go from high beam to low beam or vice versa or turn the hand warmers off then on the display would go blank. After it ran for a little while the voltage gradually came back to normal and all was good.

Can some one tell me how to check the stator both running and not? I'm guessing it is the VR. If I could let it cool down and get it to show no voltage I could check the stator and know for sure if it was my VR.

Saw some info on the 07 600 but none on the 06. A Schematic would probably help. Thanks........

Replace your VR.....for some reason, the 06's after 3-4 seasons start going out.
