Hey,

just picked up a 06 600 SDI with a 151" 35 HP shot of nos, air/fuel gauge, boondocker control box, EGt gauge, SLP pipe and can!

Ok, what is a safe running temp ?
Next, it goes like a raped ape, till you hit the deep snow, or start going up? what do i need to play with?
Compression? Sled has 3770 kms?
lastly, when you pin it, let off, and then pin it again, its like you hit the kill switch for like two seconds?

And also what is the peek RPM? right now it maxes out at 7000?

thanks

Sounds like you have clutching issues, probably mostly in the secondary backshift....remove and clean the driven clutch that should help a bit with the on-off throttle....

YOu got 4 gears but your only running to the top of third! You need more RPM! And some backshifting! Sounds like more than just a good clean is needed. If all stock still the springs will be sacked, rollers worn(if bad enough the ramps) and bushings should be replaced. For the price to replace the parts versus buying a TRA - it's definately worthwhile to rebuild once in awhile. Not only easier on the pocketbook, but the sled will last a lot longer as well if everything is kept in tune. So many things that should be done to these sleds when they hit 3-4k that ppl forget about. Ski bushings, a-arm bushings, jackshaft bearings, driveshaft bearings, suspension bearings, spacers, etc etc the list goes on.....but the drivetrain is definately of the utmost importance.

I'd take both clutches off and if not the tuning type of person - get ahold of Winterbrew for a clutch set-up. My buddy had a 144 600 on nitrous and it ripped hard for what it was. Took me a full nitrous pass to highmark 162 800's a few years ago, but I got it done! That thing was lots of fun that year.

Compression is fine, within 10% on each side is the norm. But with 4k on it.....it's almost time, my buddy had 4400km on his before the crank said no more. And when that happens - Rob @ AtoZ Parts 250-572-3690 rebuilds more Series III motors than most dealers combined in BC. Good prices and super fast turn around!

You get the clutches figured out, and your RPM where it should be.....you'll be tickled pink!
