Ok,,, so I'm working all the angles here. Does the zr chassis have the same drop and roll as the 1M? NOT afraid of getting my hands dirty so making the zr a long track is not a problem. Just want to know if the chain case is dropped like the 1M or not. I know the zr has a wider front end, not a concern. Also know that the handle bars are different and that the steering stem will have to be replaced. Planned on doing the forward mount to what ever I bought any way. Also know I will have to change the throttle cable and the brake line as well but what about the wiring for the heated grips and kill switch and such.

05 ZR's had the Diamond Drive.

'05 ZR has the Diamond drive, so no chaincase. Also, the driveshaft is not the same D&R as the 1M chassis. The A-arms are easy, 1M arms/spindles would bolt up. Handlebars and steering stem wouldn't actually need replaced unless you were doing the forward mount. Why do you think you'd have to change everything? I'd just put a mountain bar on the ZR handlebars and call it good. At least as long as you've got the ZR wiring harness that would be easier.
Just thought that by moving the bars higher that the wiring might not be long enough. So is the diamond drive in this chassis down far enough? Will the king cat rails bolt up to this suspension? The rear scissor looks like it's in the same place in the tunnel. The bars look like they are low and back more than the 1M so thought it would be good to move them forward and up. Is it possible to get different gear ratios for this diamond drive?
I agree with Idcatman3 (my son) about leaving the bars. The ZR already has a pivot style top and a riser on the steering column, lots of
different height risers are available. I think if the wiring is not long enough it would be easier to cut and splice a little extra length in than it would be to switch the whole wiring harness. It has the Firecat style controls which I have on a mountain sled with a mountain bar and like them better than the 1M bars. The Firecat bars I have had a lot of extra length in the wiring. The hand and thumb warmers have a low, medium, high rather than just low- high. As for gears in the DD I don't know for sure but the parts book only shows one set and the inner and outer case part numbers are only used on the 05 and 06 ZR.

Good to know on the bars, is it possible to use like a wild child or other forward mount kit? Might actually remake the stem myself. As for the DD,, would it be possible to put the DLD in it's place? Probably will call Black Diamond and see what they say. Thought that maybe this would be a route to take but after adding up the NEW parts I would have to buy, it might not be worth it... Forgot to ask, what should I do for a tunnel extension IF the math makes sense to follow through with this? Know I will have to get a different cooler also.
