05 Rt1000 Front Cooler Issues?

Just a update on the good ole 05 front coolers that crack.

I had mine crack and leak under warrenty and they welded it up--well guess what--it started leaking agian this year. After talking with the dealer and BRP we decided to try running it on just the tunnel cooler.
We bypassed the front cooler, and of course the rear cooler was gone in 05, but could be reinstalled if needed--but why if it will work with out it.

Well after 200 miles on powder and groomed hard pack trails--No probs--As long as you run scratchers on the hard pack, even thin snow conditions down low--no probs--just get a set of scratchers if you do not have them now.

RT1000 front coolers

talked to a guy that said his just started leaking and the only way the dealer said he could fix it was to replace the whole tunnel and bulk head?
is that true or is the dealer taking him for 5800.00:confused:

Not true---it can be welded--but it is alot of work. Just bypass it and run scratchers on the roads/trails or hard snow.
Engine does not have to come out to bypass the front cooler.
Another option--if he still has his rear cooler--put it back on and bypass the front cooler if he is worried about overheat situations.

To replace the front cooler--yes--the whole bulkhead and tunnel--but do a 06 set up--not the 05 tunnel cooler.

Mine leaked where you could not get to it to weld. Yes, to replace the cooler is a whole new tunnel etc. Doo did mine on warranty. I also rerouted the cooler lines and ran on just the tunnel cooler, worked fine. Mine is an "05 tho, didn't they shorten the coolers on the '06's?
