05 RT bog up to about 4000ft elevs

05 RT bog up to about 4000ft elevs???

Looking for some suggestions to why I am getting a bog as I head up the trail to around 4000ft elevation, this bog occurs at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle around 6000rpm.

At first I thought RAVEs need adjusting or maybe a clogged fuel filter but it totally clears up at higher elevations, so I just baby it kinda till it clears up.

This started about 1/2 way thru last year, my last ride the motor took out MAG piston, metal broke off between the rings on exhuast side. I rebuilt the motor this summer, it runs awesome except for this bog.

The bog only kicks in about 75% of the time, so its not a steady bog.

Any ideas guys???? My cousin thinks it could be a air pressure sensor or something.

Thanks!

have seen a good number of 1000 with the round tubes on the rave valves peen them selves over enough to cause them to stick a bit. pull the rack out and you will see how they have mushroomed and what you need to do then is pull the tubes off and take up to 100 ths off them.
they mushroom the ends due to them rattling in the bottom of the boost port there in . have seen it on most of them. easy enough to cure .
the added back pressure down lower is the variable you are seeing as to how it effects the raves , the stutter you are experiencing is right were the vales are supposed to open.the higher elevation doesnt have as much pressure on the system and is why you see it less above 4000ft

Ya I've seen that mushroom before and just cleaned up the flair, I'll knock them down 100th then. I'll also get new plastic gears for them as well. When I put the motor together and torqued the raves down to sppec they binded when I turned by hand, when I backed off the bolts a bit they loosened a bit but still binding, this will most likely fix the issue. Guess I shouldn't have cleaned the plastic gears with carb cleaner grrrr my bad.....
Thanks Al!! Happy new year !
