05 Rt 1000

I know I have read posts about this but I can not find them. While in deep powder my air intake gets clogged and sled lacks air. Dealer mentioned pulling off the vent cover and velcroing some special fabric over the intake. What have others done - what kind of fabric?

I am also looking at Powder pro skis and a Dynamo Joe clutch kit – this make sense?

i was ridin up at st. helens last week and the snow was deep and kinda heavy (imagine that!) and my rt1000 felt like the exhaust was pluggin up with snow. it bogged out and wanted to thorw me over the bars, then would jump right back into it. ive never had it do that to me on this sled but wondered if any one else with the twins has had this happened to them. might have to fab up a deflector.

other ideas? hate to bog out in deep snow... uhh ohh...

I got the R&M Lightening Kit that replaces both the intake scoop and exhaust side vent for mine. Have not bogged once this season and we have had several epic days in Central Oregon. Check their web site......

My 05 with twin's does the same thing slam the front end down in powder and it will bog for a sec. I'm going to put a deflector on mine when I get home. Will be doing a track and heads also.

dj's kit on the rt's is THE best mod you can doo. im running the timber sled kit which drops a little weight and adds some throttle crispness. no issues with snow cloggin either.

I would get simmons skis the powder pros dive to much I removed the outer air box and gutted the inner just running prefilter over inner air box will run under the snow all day long
