Went riding this weekeend and my 900 would just stop running. It would start right back up, but it kept doing it all day. Has anyone had the same problem or any suggestions what the problem might be.

Changed fuel filter beginning of this season and it was not running hot at all.
check the wires at the rider positon adjuster i had a couple wires pinched between the steering post and the bracket and the off switch wire would ground out and shut the machine off whenever it felt like
At the end of last season my buds would kind of do the dsame thing. All of a sudden it would quit, then fire up after 3-4 pulls, ride for a half hour or so, then quit again. ETc Etc. It finally would not start again after he turned it off after we got back to the trailer. It turned out that the stator was bad.

I borrowed a friends 975 a while back and rode for two days without problems.On the third day it started to stutter once in awhile. Then last day it killed on its own, started hard, then ran a little bit and died. It did that 6-8 times. We pulled plugs and it would have intermittent spark. When we got it back, my buddy said a rivet had come loose and messed up the stator. Fixed it and has been fine since.
