05 REV won't start

Can't even pull the start rope to full extension. I thought I had this problem fixed but it's come back to haunt me!

I take the slack out of the rope and give it a yank but get a huge amount of resistance. Even Arnie wouldn't be able to pull it hard enough to fire up the sled.

I can't get a clean pull, the rope kind of stutters with increasing resistance 'til full extension. Problem gets no better with more stuttered pulls. Only other noticeable thing is the primary squeaking as it slowly spins as I pull the rope. Maybe it's shot and causing the resistance?

Any ideas? Don't think it's the recoil as the rope snaps back. Rode fine a couple of days ago on the Pemby Ice Cap. Now it's stuck on the back of my truck.

OOOOO!!!!
That sounds bad. Take out the plugs and pull it over. If you still have lots of resistance, take off the belt. If it still has resistance, you may have crank bearing failure.

Try pulling it over with the alternate starter rope in your tool kit.
