05 M7

Hey I ride an 05 M7 and last weekend when I was riding it wasn't getting the right RPM's. Some of the time it would run where its supposed to and then I would climb another hill and it would only get up to 7500. It did this off and on all day. I stopped and let the clutch cool off and it would still do it and also put on a new belt. Any suggestions on what it might be? Thanks

I would check the plug wires/caps, powervalves, and all clutching components.

Check that plug wires are functioning and that caps are not loose or corroded. Maybe even try a new set of plugs.

Check that powervalves are clean, functioning, and in cable length to spec.

Check that all clutching components are funtional...rollers, weights, bushings, springs, etc.

Check all that out and get back to us.

On the stock secondary there is a white adjustment ring for spring tension. It backs off, turn the white adjuster in so its 1/2 in from the front cover and try it. if its that ring you can drill and tap a hole to keep the adjuster from backing off in the future. And if your using a aftermarket can try the stock one.

check your flow on your pipe and can. my can came apart inside and would move around blocking off half of the opening of the tube restrickting the flow of my exaust. It ran just like you said, onetime it would run good and the next time it would run 3/4 power.
wow what a pain, hope you find it fast took me three weeks and four rides to find mine. good luck

Excellent advice :face-icon-small-hap

There should be a wrench in your tool kit that has three little post on it that fit into the three holes on the ring

Not the M7's...that is for the deflection adjuster. For the bigger, white ring you need to buy a wrench (ya, they didn't supply one). I hate the BD wrench...too complicated and heavy to carry. I don't know what else is available. I have a small one from The Outdoor Shop, but they dont make it anymore...
