05, M7 Side panels suck.

The side panels on my 05, M7 are the weakest point on my sled. The clutch side get pushed into the primary anytime I am on that side and it makes a scary noise. Both sides don't seat into the front very good either and just look junky. What can I do to tighten them up? Can I get some newer year model side panels to solve the problem? Those little holes that the stud with the cotterpin were blown out before I got the sled so I am sure that sn't helping but that is in the belly pan nose piece.

your supposed to ride on the track not the side panels:) if they are wore out maybe they need to be replaced???

05 side pannels are junk. Get a set of 06 or up pannels they made a couple of improvments to make them fit a little better.

It gets pushed in when I sidehill and push up a bunch of snow on that side or if I am in tight spot trenched in leaning to the left.

Thanks Chapman, that was I was hoping to hear but don't have any friends with newer M series sleds.

cut off the stock plastic bung in the back and put a bolt troug the side panel instead.

same thing happened to me just the other day, and i didnt even have it tipped over on the clutch side. gravity just popped the panel out and started rubbing the primary. when it first happened i thought i seriously guffed something up

Ya i got sick of my sled looking like dumbo everytime i jumped it hard or landed weird ( backs of panels would pop out )

cut off the stock plastic bung in the back and put a bolt troug the side panel instead.

I left the "Bung" attached and just put a bolt in it, cut the head off of a bolt and drilled a hole through the bolt for a spot for a pin, cheap way to make them the same as 06 panels.
