05' Kingcat 900 into a 02' Mtncat 800

I have a 05' Kingcat 900 efi and want to put it into my 02' Mtncat 800 with carbs. I have ran into a snag, there is no provision for a pulse hose from the fuel pump to the crank case on the 900. Now what??

If you are trying to put your 800 carbs on the EFI 900 engine it won't work. The electrical systems are totally different. The EFI has an electric fuel pump inside the tank that pressurizes the injection system. The impulse pump from the carb engine will not put out enough pressure. The electrical components from one will not work on the other except for the coil.
You could however take everything from the EFI KingCat, fuel tank, wiring harness, voltage regulator, and the injection system and transfer it to the 02. I don't know why you would want to do that though unless the King Cat is wrecked and the 02 chassis is good.

Switch the whole tank and pump over. Use the extra engine mounts you have across the front of the engine plate and hold the 900 down tight. I will be an easy switch but depending on what you would need to put the king back together, you may want to consider selling the parts off the 02' and rebuilding the king. It's lighter, better suspention, and you will have a dropped chaincase. Either way, you will like the 900.

the king is beyond an easy fix. the 02' 800 is needing an engine only. When i bought the King-drove 700 miles and picked up the whole sled in pieces thinking i could install the 900 with little problem's. I have learned other! Drove to Reno, NV and back in one day, took 26 hours! If I could find a tunnel/bulkhead I would consider putting the King back together.

I have a 2000 thundercat bulk head. It is pretty close ( I think). While you are swapping stuff swap to the king drop and roll chaincase. It will make your 02 a completely different sled.

Did it come with instructions..... insert tab a into slot b??? ;) How long did it take to pack it all into your car, looks like it was tight.:)

I would do a drop and roll on your 02, use the king kat skid, seat, tank, motor, front suspension. Then you would basically have the same chassis. Should be just is lite proably too. With the seat suspension you would be dropping some pretty good weight too.
