05 has 06 pistons. 05 has a LH side displacemnt washer

I bought my 05 900 from original owner,, he claims he had nothing done to it but updates... Today i started takin stuff offf to pull motor and put the 06 top end in i bought. After loooking in exhaust port and seeing piston i noticed the beef between the rings,, so i pulled out my NEW 06 pistons and made a measurment strip, and stuck the strip in exhaust port layed on existing piston,, it matches,, top of piston, to first ring, and second ring. its a 06 piston..
Did the factory do this on some 05's ?

Also noticed the LH side rear engine mount has a displacemnt washer and displacment stop.. It is not the same as the 06, cause i bought them and have them on the floor, it's similar on my 05 but not exact.. On the exploded views of 05's there was not this stop & washer.

Yes, that is what is sold as 06'. And i did buy that already. Just was suprized to see somthing a little different on my 05.. a round washer w/ no notches, and a round urathain puck, no notches. I have not yet removed it,,, coming soon.

i seen in Team Tips, the section cut of 05' pistons VS. 06'..... i did a look and seemed spot on as 06' match to new ones on my bench... is it quite obvious in spacing the difference ?

Just want to make sure my tolerance w/ my eye in pen mark width isn't off.. is it like 1mm differ. in spacing between rings on 05 to 06 ?

The washer and puck were one of the TSB's that they had in 05. The early version had no notch and the later version had a notch. The notch was intended for a unit that might have electric start. Either version will work just fine, but if you purchase a new one you will get the version with the notch since they phased out the round version.
