05 fusion 900 question on pipes

Maybe but you will probably melt your hood if you have a stock hood. I don't think you can run crank shop twins without a mesh hood without them melting stuff.

Replacing the hood is the easy part. Getting your sled to run proper with those twins is the hard part. Unless you have a big bore kit your better off with the stock pipe or a slp single.

That is what I heard when I first got my sled and asked if anybody made twins for them. Everyone said the same thing, they could not get them to run right with twins. Dyno Port still makes a pipe for these sleds and so does SLP. I would go with the dyno Port if it was me. I haven't had much luck with SLP pipes.

I have the Dynoport pipe/y/can and I love it. Haven't tried the SLP though. Gut the airbox to make more airflow for it and it really wakes the sled up.

I too have looked into twins but read the same thing. Would be a nightmare to try set up. Wonder if the PC5 and autotune would work with them though?

Quick question, for the dynoport y,pipe, can set up, dose the SLP reflash work for fueling or do you need a fuel controller.(boondocker box)

It works with the stock fuel map. Actually makes it better since stock runs rich and the pipes make it perfect with the stock map. Not sure on the SLP reflash but think I remember reading somewhere that some parts of the SLP reflash along with the Dynoport set up would make it too lean. Think it was a post from one of Dynotechs dyno resluts.

I talked to both Dyno port and CPI and there pipes make power at lower RPMs than the SLP set up. They boost the HP over almost the entire RPM range to so you get more lowend and midrange. No change is needed to the fuel map for either one.

Can you take a picture of the Dyno-port pipe on your sled?

Sure can, but might be a couple days. Just starting to get a blizzard and covered the 9 before work this am. Once I get a chance though will definitely post it here.

Thanks, they don't have any photos on their website of the 900 exhaust.

Manage to get couple pics but for some reason camera won't connect with usb to comp. Left laptop at work so will put them on tomorrow by the afternoon since my laptop has slot for the memory card.

What do you guys think about the HTG pipe for the 9,???
I have one on my 900 with a dynoport can, and a boss noss fuel controller but can`t seem to get the tune right.
Top end is great but it is very slugish at low speeds.
I`m thinking of just going with a SLP pipe and the reflash for easy of use.

Don't like the SLP pipe, to thin and requires you to spin the engine faster to make any power. Spinning the engine faster on a 900 equals an exponentially larger amount of force on the crank causing the ends to snap off eventually.
I've never seen an HTG pipe, do they still make that? CPI will make a pipe for you but they have to have your sled to do it. If I had to buy a pipe tomorrow I think I would go with the dyno-port personally. It costs more, but you get a higher quality pipe that makes more power over the whole RPM range and not just at the very top like the SLP.

It looks like the stock pipe actually makes more power than the SLP at lower RPM's.

HTG is stamped from Dynoport same make. They just do a lil mod to it to call there own. Read it somewhere on HCS a few times and a couple other sites.

I took some pics of my dynoport will post by the afternoon. If you take some pics of your HTG and we can compare. Think it is same just doesn't have the dynoport stamp on pipe and the flat part where stamp is might be there on your HTG.

EDIT-thought the Dynoport stamp was stamped on it but it is welded on tag.

Here you go. Got this at a great deal from an HCS member with little miles.
Can see I fabbed up a shield for the y-pipe to prevent cracking on the boots. I used the shield from the stock can and the packing that is under the shield. The dynoport y-pipe has more volume then the stock one and is also ceramic coated but decided to make the shield so I wouldn't have to keep putting the heat tape on when it starts coming off.
The can that came with it is the big volume can which is quieter then the big core barker. A little pricey new for $750 which I got for $300 shipped to Canada with very little miles. But you do get a great quality product. Not thin so you know it will last and I believe would hold the high pressure of the turbo but don't take my word for it.

Here`s some pics of my HTG pipe,
I don`t think HTG offers this pipe any more.
If it is the same as the dynoport pipe I should try the stock map.
When I bought this pipe I talked to HTG and they told me to use a fuel controler on it, they offered a preprogramed boondocker box for $450, but I already had a Boss noss efi box, and have been trying that.

Thanks for the pics. They are one and the same. Only difference I can see is that the Dynoport has a lil brace near the can end. Also the y-pipe mine is where it mounts to the engine it is a full triangle piece to cover the gasket and yours is cut with that shape but the volume and shape of y-pipe is the same.

So yea try go to stock map as Dynoport designed them to go with stock mapping.
