05 ECU Interchangeable

I have an 05 M7 with a big bore kit. This sled has a boondocker box. Can anyone tell me what ecu's are interchangeable. I have been told with a boondocker box that the symbol does not Matter.

Can I use an 05 M6 ecu?

The way I understand it, you can use an 05 ecu and have it reflashed to whatever you need. You can't reflash the 06 m6 ecu to a m7 because of the pipe sensor on the 600. So, I would think that you can use your 05 ecu.

I remember being told that I needed to match the symbols on the ECU with the injectors, ie if my injectors have a square symbol, then I need an ECU with a square. I did this when I had to replace the ECU on my '05 M7. I lucked out and found a used one.

You MAY be able to make an ECU that doesn't match you injectors work by manipulating the computer with the boondocker box. However, I feel that the less things you try to get the boony box to do, the better- keep it simple.
