will the oil come out the dimond drive if its upside down ??

i am changing the oil and i have it upside down and oil is coming out of were the bolt is to hold the secondary on? when its upright in the sled with the secondary on is that enough to keep the oil in? obviously i guess??

thoughts? thanks

Just my .02 I find that for the amount of time it takes to pull the DD right out it ends up getting alot cleaner with one try. Just pull the bolt out of the brake rotor, take off your secondary, undo the 6 bolts that hold the DD to the tunnel, and loosen your track. BAM that simple. I just did mine and having it on the bench it was alot easier to put the flush in and spin the DD over alot to ensure it's clean drain it out and then put the oil in and reinstall. Sorry for the lengthy .02 but this way you'll be sure to get all the "greeblees" out of your DD.

and even better, split the case, pull it all apart to clean it and reassemble. Check all the bearing cages for breaks and spin all the bearings.

I've never used the flush, because I split the case everytime, but I can tell you that just pulling the plug and turning it upside down doesn't get all the oil out, and I'd guess all the flush neither. Everytime I've pulled mine apart, and I've done it many, many times, there is a lot of oil trapped behind some of the gears. Pull it completely apart to be the safest, and it doesn't take very long to do. My $.02.

Yes, there is a vent where the secondary bolts on and yes it will leak when up side down. This is normal.

:D

oil

Had my sled up side down may times without any sign of oil there.I know there is a vent in the screw, but seems to be away from oil of dd. It maybe your seal that is leaking...better pull to inspect closer.....
