I found a pair of carbs off an 05 rev and I cant pass up the deal will they fit on my 02 and will they be better than my round side carbs?

they should be fine

Yes i do believe they will fit...the only thing would be the air box...and you would want to get the jetting from like a later 02 or 03 to start with...i really like the rack style carbs, they are a lot nicer to get off and clean...i am sure some one else will post about the same or totally different...good luck

The 05 carbs will not work well unless you install the 01 MPEM and DPM system.. The alt compensation circuitry is different and your 2000 700 Box will not allow the DPM to compensate correctly.. Having said that, if you can get an 01 box (it will plug into your 700 stator (the 02 and later will not) you have a working system.

I have run the 2000 700 engine with the 01 flat slides and picked up performance over my 40mm rounds..Other option is to hard jet the flat slides and run uncompensated..

OR , long shot, get the 05 stator, MPEM and carbs...

Right now I am running the roundside carbs with no dpm and re-jet and needle set air screw set out 1 1/2. will I be able to run the 05 carbs with no dpm?

Is this a 600 or what?

We start the thread with '05 carbs (I would have expected all fuel infection by then?) and to install on '02 snowmachine.

any 700+ should have flat slides in '02.

Then talk of a 2000 700.

Has there been many posts deleted or what? :peep:
This thread is making no sence. ???

Yes, no prblem not running the DPM.. your bottom end throttle response will increase and a little on top also.. Good MOD..

OX, Sorry, I do not understand your post.> What are you asking?

What for '02 had round slides? A 600?

And then your mentioning yr 2000 700cc into the mix. ???

He was asking about an '02. ???

I know the '99 600 had round slides. I know the '00.5 800's had flats.

So what for '02 had rounds? Still the 600?

How did the yr 2000 700cc get involved?

I can usually follow a trail map, but I think I got lost on the cloverleaf. :face-icon-small-blu

YUP.. There is some confusion.. he says he has an 02 but inthe same sentence he says he has round slides.. So, I suspect his 02 is really a 2000 engine..

Okay sorry I have a 2002 700 but it was re- built before I bought it. In re building it (since it is my first doo) I found it was an 02 800 chassis with an 02 700 motor that the dpm was removed and round slide carbs jetted at sea level where put on. So what I was asking is I bought a set of rack carbs for 25 bucks off an 05 rev and I want to know if they will work. That is not hooking up the dpm and jetting them my self.

Yes, they will work fine... But will work even better with DPM since you change elevation..I am not sure that the 05 DPM will connect to your 02 MPEM.. Not 100% but if you can get the DPM rail it would be worth a shot.. So, try and getit as well if it is available.

In ANY case, no matter how you connect it.. the 05 carbs will work better. You may want to look at your oil pump . I know when I went from rounds to flats, I had to change the arm on the oil pump to an arm from the flat slide carb set-ups otherwise the throttle would not pull all the way.. easy fix, regardless, but make sur eyou check it out..
