Been doing alot of searching and narrowed down a good clutching/gearing combo for my 05 900 rmk. I ride mostly at 3000-5000ft above sea-level, SLP pipe, timbersled intake, TSS 04, track is a 151x2.5". I wont be doing any big hillclimbs either just flat-land powder, would still like to get 80mph out of her. Not sure on what is a safe max rpm for this beast of a motor is. 7700w/pipe?

I read alot of goods on the 719 helix, also run one in my prox and love it.

155/222 Secondary Spring
719 Helix
120/310 Primary Spring
10/74 Weights
Stock gearing

What do you think, will this be a good, cool running belt setup?

i ran 18/39 in my 05 and it worked great. gives you a 2.17:1 ratio you may want to go to a 140/240 secondary spring.

I dont want to go too low of gearing, will lose top end. I wont be doing anything crazy with the machine other then flatland powder. Thinking I might wait till snow and see how the stock gearing works and monitor clutch temps.

BIGDAWG, what would be the difference when riding the machine to go to your 140/240 spring?

Weights/RPM? anyone? dont want to buy 3 sets!

Thanks!

Rpm you want to shoot for 7600-7800 as per slp recomendations

here is slp's clutching set up info

80mph on a 2.5" track... That, IMO, is a bad combo...

Haha I knew someone would say that. I might be shaving the lugs domw to 2" if I have issues!

What would be the equivalent to the weights in the chart, that totals 78g, wouldn't that be a little much? Want to stay with the 10 series weights.
