05 800 summit good or bad?

I am looking at a 05 800 summit 144 with 1300mi and was wondering if they were ok or if they had any problems I should be aware of. Do they need anything to make them work well in the mountains?

Wouldnt hurt to check the compression and the rings.

Yup! Great sled. Make sure it has the chrome rings.

I have an 05 Summit and I love it! I had the ring update done right away and just installed an RKT 827 kit. When we pulled the motor apart everything looked great. No pistion wear, the cylinders looked good and the rings were in good condition. It had just over 1000 miles.

I did change the shocks, seat and secondary

I have an 05 800, 144 bought it new, Great sled, I have installed a Dynomo Joe clutch kit and it really made a difference. No problems at all have about 1000 miles on it.

I also installed a pair of Simmons skis. Like them alot better than the stock ones.

I have an '05, I did break a piston skirt @ 1700 miles, got into the crank and I got a whole new motor (under warranty).

That's the only problem I've had, though, and I've got somewhere around 4000 mile on it now. Great sled!

05 800 144 here. New pistons and rings in mine and a few other goodies and I really like it.
