'05 5600 RPM & Up Bog

Searched the frum but couln't find the answer. 2005 bogs 5500-5600 Rpm's. Charged up capacitor, slowly dicharges. Stator ohm'd out. Fuel pressure 62psi
plus. Gauge? Cleaned ground. Checked TPS voltage and sweep. Wiggled wirs, checked electrical plugs. Both cylinders spark. Exhaust valves slide freely, no holes in the bellowes. Plugged both hoses to the ex valves. I am at a loss. The only thing I have noticed is that it takes the normal 3 pulls to start after
sitting over night. If started again relatively soon then 1 pull after that. After sitting for a couple hours it takes 3 pulls again. Any other ideas?

Sounds like you did just about everything...when you swept the TPS, did you use an analog meter (digital probably won't/may not work)? Was it a good meter (if not, it might be too slow to see the dead/bad spot)?

Checked the voltage out put while slowly moving the throttle thru the entire range. Digital. My analog is acting up. Wouldn't a bad TPS show as a dead spot not half of the sweep/throttle? Also checked another set of throttle bodies with a TPS the same way with the same results. Any more Ideas?

It depends on your meter specs but I'd be surprised if your meter would register it...maybe if you had a scope on it.

I think you would have a much better chance with a good analog meter set to resistance putting the tps throughout its range while looking for needle deflection.

If you have another tps. Why don't you swap it in and see if you have the same bog?

I did try to remove it and couldn't budge it without a vise grip so i quit. I'll try replacing with a good one. Is there a way to test it?

Back at it today. Replaced TPS with a known good one. Switched both clutches with known good ones. WIll Digital Wrench tell you if a sensor is out of spec even if the CEL never comes on? How would the engine react if the exhaust valve springs were sacked out?

Did the exh. springs feel weak..?

Have you looked at the Reeds?

Changed Fuel Filter .. Even Though it has 62 psi.. Check it while with a load. Running down a trail..

Can you get it past 5600. then run ok?

Reeds looked good. Have not checked fp going down the trail. Springs did not feel bad. Just wondering. I can not get it over 6500. The exhaust sound changes when the throttle is over 3/4 applied.

I think your next step is to confirm u have 63 psi.. on the trail.. under load..

Sounds like it runs out of fuel!! ...

Normally when a sensor is out of spec.. the check engine light will blink.. Count the flash's.. if it start s blinking..

The exh.. Doesn't have a mouse nest in it.. its free flowing??

No mouse nest. I did look thru the pipe and can. CEL doesn't blink, that's why I was asking about Digital Wrench. I'll check fuel pressure while riding and get back with the results in a couple of days. Thanks for the ideas everyone!

if you plugged the lines maybe thats why they think it is bad LOL

Hopefully you get it back cheap and without the bog! we will see, thanks for posting the results it helps us all!
