it was me....
no really i can and will take the blame. as soon as a black snowmobiler buys a sled, jack frost took a vacation. i guess he saw pigs fly. as of sunday everything will be ok, because i toasted my mag side piston. i only put 108 miles on the beotch and the sled has 470 miles total. i guess it just wasn't meant to be. get ready because i have a feeling the season's about to change... without me.

Don't you believe it Paul. There's alot of time to go yet, we'll get ours this yr. just later than usual.
Ouch I had a feeling you might need a top end, just need pistons or do you need the cyl replated too? let me know if I can help on parts.

Sorry to hear this...Let us know what you ride so we don't buy the same headache......I'm in the same boat. My '04 RMK 800 with 5,200 miles took an exhaust valve into a cylinder, broke a piston and put a dent in my season in a very big way....Time for a different crank, as it was getting shaky.......Crank arrived 2day, piston & cylinder on the way.....B ready when(and if) the snow shows.....
Rode yesterday. Trees had some soft, deep stuff!! Had a fun day. A little more cover over the land mines would be nice
Only 18" new last weekend.....OK, so it was heavy, wet crap snow.....but I'll take it!! Some of the best rides have been in the rain 
Come now Paul I already took one for the team when I got the new motor done and running and it went to s**t. I have been on the Mt. once with it and now I'm waiting for Winter along with everyone else. So now it is someone elses fault.
i don't know it could be me? bought a new sled in 05 and again this year sorry guys.

5200 miles my DOO 1000 has 470. you are in a well constructed naval vessel, while I a cardboard dingy!! hope you get everything together without a hitch!!

That REALLY sucks. I feel for you. When I first got my old REV i put it into a tree the very first week of snow. Then missed the entire month of december.
Just keep your chin up and shell be fixed before you know it.
And chances are you'll know your sled inside and out when its all over.

470 miles and your 1000 smoked a piston? Sounds like bad gas or just plain mosture from sitting to long--bummer--that is going to leave a mark!!!

left marks on the cylinder and my pride! probably moisture because it had been stored outdoors with a cover, but not under cover, all it's life. it wasn't registered in 2009 either. sh!tty deal regardless.

It sucks--and spendy--maybe time for a 1150 kit from bikemans?? it will probabley cost less than fixing what went or close--these 1000's are spendy to rebuild
