04 summit 800 top end

i have to redo the top end on my sled and i don't want to go with stock pistons and rings. i want somthin better what should i get? i've seen rk teks 827 big bore kit looks good but i don't know how reliable it is and how it would work with crankshop twins. any advice would be great

My rule of thumb. Get something that runs well and easily replaced if broken. With that, stock bore with stock or readily available pistons like SPI, new head, Boyeson or Vforce reeds and good clutching. All I need.

Just got a 04 800 this year. Will replace the top end and repack bearings before next season. So you think the SPI pistons are good..can you get them with duel rings? Sled runs strong now but on long pulls I can feel the power fade away...heat soaked pistons is my thought. Dino
