'04 Rev need help with track decision

OK, I'm ready to swap out my 159" camo lite. I've already moved my skid down and back an inch in the front but want the baddest 2.5" lug height deep snow climbing track I can put on it. I'll go to 163" with big wheels in back and smaller drivers up front if needed. Doesn't matter what pitch to me. I've got Big Johns clutch kit in, high compression heads, ceramic coated stock pipe, a can and boysen rage cage with fresh air kit. It has good power and may get a Big John Big bore kit before long so I think I can turn pretty much any 2.5" high lug track out there. What's gonna get me the highest? :kev: ( by the way, I have a 163" track from an 09 XP with 2.86 pitch available at a good cost. Is this a good track to change to?)

you will need a set of 7 tooth Avids.also prefer smaller upper idlers.the 2.5 will have 3 inch pitch. These drivers will lower gear ratio 7% .works well with stock gearing

track change

Have you thought about a 162 power claw. I'v heard alot of good comments on this track. It's only 15 wide but I wounder if this would help the sled lay over a little easyer. Has anyone done this change?

i have an 04 and i put a 159" 2.313" challenger (9941m), it was unreal the difference that it made....but if your changing drivers and all i have heard good things about the extreme 162" 2.5", its a 3" pitch i believe...

Which track did your sled have on it stock? What did you have to do to get the 159" to work (replace drivers, move skid etc)? I have an '04 800x with a 151 which is missing some lugs and would like to upgrade to a newer, lighter, slighlt longer track - I almost wondered if I could get away with a 154" and take up the slack with the tension adjusters.

My old 06 REv went from a 159 stock to a 174 16 2.5 3 pitch that thing was unstoppable
You could stop on a hill you normally would get stuck on, and be able to continue right back up the hill.

Contact BigJohn at sledhead racing.. He just hooked me up with a 154 track from a 11 xp and the correct drivers and axle. The stock wheels were not big enough. I went with a 9in big wheel kit from CECOMPONENTS.com. It looks amazing and cant wait to take her out.
