04 rev handlebar adjustment

Just moved the bars forward on my wifes 05 600 Summit, you may have to bend a tab to the side or remove the tab to get the bars forward enough to a comfortable height. Yes, you will be able to throw the sled around easier, sidehill and so on better.

Yes you can move the column forward.
Take the console off and you will see the block that holds the steering shaft with 2 bolts. To move it forward you need to remove the bolts, push the column forward till the back hole in the block aligns with the front hole, then drill out a new front hole. I did this to my 04 and 07, I like it better in the forward position.

I tired it on my 05 for a few rides and did not care for it, so I moved it back. Very easy to swap and on mine all the holes were already there so no drilling required. I say give it a try. At worst case you just move it back.

I did it on my 03 had to drill out the fron holes LOVE i then i put a 10 inch riser block just need about 2 more inches then i will be happy. try it and if you dont like it all your out is time.

Here is THE DEAL...

The forward hole will put your risers in a higher position which can give you more leverage to muscle the sled over leading some to falsely believe they are improving mtn sled performance. OTOH the further BACK you are on the sled, the easier it is to carve! I've ridden both extensively. The forward hole is best for trail riders/racers as you can pull your weight over the front of the sled and prevent inside ski lift; it is the aggressive position. For mountain/powder riders you are much better off with it in the rear position for better carving/sidehilling IF you have risers that are tall enough for you. My Gade uses the forward while my Summit will only see the rearward holes. Hope that clears up some of the confusion!

Have FUN!
