04 rev 800 144 to 159 or 156

Thinking of swapping out my 144x16x2 to a 156 or 159 x16x2.5. Right now I have 10 tooth drivers. Will I need to go down to 7t or 8t to clear that extra lug height? Anyone have any parts laying around? Thanks

If you get a 2.5" lug the driver pitch is going to change to 3.0" so you will have to change your drivers regardless. That's why I found a used 162x16x2.3 off of an RT. Its WAY more track than I had and was a simple swap

162

I was told I could only go as far as a 159 from a 144? Will the 2.3 fit with the 10t drivers. As it sets now there is about 3/8" between the track and the front cooler. Will the stock gears be fine with the longer track keeping the stock drivers? Thanks

Well you are only getting 1/4" more lug so it will clear. 9t would be a better fit for sure though. Even with my 144 I geared down, I would recomend you do the same. You can put whatever track length you want on that machine, it just depends on what extensions are available to you. I got a good deal on a complete track and skid so I just bolted in the new skid under the new track, installed a tunnel and done deal

I`m really happy since I extended my 144 sled to a 159x15x2 1/8 series 4 polaris track, pretty good track get good trackion and takes me anywhere I want to go and for a track of that length is about the lightest you can buy and I istalled it all in with the stock drivers that was turning the 144 and sled it geared 19/46 kinda low geared but really snappy on the bottom and very responsive. still get great top end speed which I don`t really care about.

I had universal rail extension but have purchased full length hyfax tracksusa extension that are goin on it, this pic is what how I rode it all last year.

I beleive if you go with the 2.5 lug you have to go to smaller driver, stock are 10 tooth, I have plent clearance
