04 MC EFI not getting fuel...

So I pulled the ol' 900 out of the garage yesterday, filled her with fresh fuel, threw some new plugs in, and tried to turn her over. No go (40 or so pulls later) and she always started 100% of the time by the 3rd pull. I checked spark in both cylinders and we are go for launch.

So what i'm thinking is some old fuel was left in the line and now my injectors are clogged. I usually run Seafoam through on my last tank to prevent this but my season ended abruptly last year and I didn't get the chance. What is the best way to clean out my injectors when they are already clogged to the point where no fuel can get to em?

I dumped a half can of Seafoam in hoping it might settle through the lines overnight, but no such luck.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I would pull the fuel line off were it goes to the fuel rail and see if you are getting fuel there it should squirt out of there with a little pressure behind it. And if you are getting it there i would take out the injectors and clean them with carb cleaner as good as you can, and try it again. I had this happen to mine before, also once i had to just tap the injector cause it was frozen shut. If your not getting fuel to the fuel rail even you might have to get a different fuel pump.

yes would test to see if your pumps working first, maybe even mix a little fuel and shoot some into each cylinder and fire it a couple of times. if the pump is just a little sticky from sitting the longer period of power supply to it may be enough to break it loose.

Do 1m's have the smart valves for fuel pick up. The least little bit of water in the tank would shut them off and not allow any fuel to flow on my m series. Shine a light in the tank and see if there are beads of water at the bottom of the tank. May not be your problem as im not sure if the 1m's have the smart valves in the tank.

I'm going to load the cylinders up with some fuel and see if it might free up the flow of fuel.

And no, there is no water in the tank. I completely drained it back in June and the only thing that had fuel in it was the line. I'm a novice with EFI so I have NO IDEA what to pull apart and how. I'll ask around and see if I can find anyone local that knows how to deal with these fuel racks.

Yep, put some fuel in and the sucker kicked over like a charm on the first pull. It idled for about 3 seconds and then died.

I'll try it a few more times and see if it frees up the injectors/pump.

Your sled does have smart valves and should not be stored with the tank dry. PM arcticatdan on here and ask him how he fixed his.

Good advice. I'll make sure to treat the tank next season (like usual).

So the sled eventually (after 5 fuel-in-cylinder tries) fired up on one cylinder and feathering the throttle freed up the other injector. Shes running like a top now! Thanks guys!
