04 escape tach wiring w/ aftermarket hood

I got a fiberglass hood I am installing and I and putting just the stock tach in it. When I pulled the wiring harness out of my stock hood I noticed the speedo, tach and headlights are all connected.

Question 1-Can I just connect the tach without a problem?

Question 2-How hard is it to splice an aftermarket headlight into the stock wiring?

Any tips would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

You can use the stock wiring harness for the tach with no issues with out running the speedo. For the lights if you don't want to ruin your wiring harness just take the plug that goes to your headlight and plug a male connector into the yellow and I believe the green slot in the plug then run you wires to the light.
