04 arctic cat king cat 900 vs 04 rmk vertical edge

What size is the RMK? I'm a cat guy, so I have to say go with the cat. The 800/900 cat motors are bullet proof. They can be alot of sled to maneuver depending on your size. Alot of problems with Polaris 800/900's. I personally wouldn't buy one.

From what I've heard the 800 Poos had above average rate for crank problems after they go a few thousand miles. I've heard the Cat 900s are solid motors so that is what I bought 3 seasons ago but I just have the 1m 900 151.

Going from no sled to a King Cat is a heckuva big jump but if you are a quick learner with ability it is probably fine.

The Polaris has a 151 track and its an 800 Liberty. It doesnt have a ton of mods done to it but it does have SLP intake, Boost bottle, MBRP can RideFX and ZeroPos and HRP's big wheel kit, riser, skid plate, Simmons Skis, and other odds and ins. Yeah the 800's have a really bad rap on here for there crank issues but the guys i know who've had the Edge Liberty's never ran into crank issues that i know of and i know of a few that have over 5 thousand miles on them and they did nothing more than a new install of rings and water pump belts. I lived in Laramie last year and rode this sled up in the snowies for nine months straight and had a blast. I rode a guys 900 up there and it climbed alright but its like driving a damn boat!! Thats a heavy *** sled and it showed. With that 162 it could just barely out do my pol on the climbs. your comparing a 151 track to a 162 and there worlds apart. I think many people would agree that the 800 RMK with the 151 track is a very well rounded sled. I have had no problems with this sled and im only selling it cause im moving for a job and could use the money somewhere else. Thanks

I was out riding in montana this year with a guy with a 1M 800. It was not stock and either was my brothers 04 RMK 800. Both had close size in tracks. I dont know much about the cat 800 and if there any engine problems with them. I will tell you that the polaris 800 motor felt alot stronger and it showed. I've ridden both and I would go with the Poo. Oh ya and the RMK has 4000 miles and never touched it. He also had some miles on the cat and I don't think he has touched his either. I just feel that the 800 poo had much more power.

My brother had a Poo 800 and the motor had nothing on my Cat 800 both stock at the time. Also the pistons fell aprt on the Polaris after a couple thousand miles. I will agree though if going from no sled to a 1M chassis might be difficult. They are not the easiest sled to ride.

The sled has 1800 miles on it and i just pulled it 2 weeks ago and tore it down to the case just to check it out. Checked crank bearings, slight hone through cylinders, cleaned transfer ports, mic'd the pistons and rings they were almost perfect, cleaned them, cleaned exhaust valves. Power wise, I can say two of my friends bought XP's 146 last year and my other friend had a 03 ProX. whenever we race the XP's never had more than half a length on me and every time i race my bud on his ProX i stomped him by atleast 2 lengths every time......I am amazed by the power this sled puts out with minimal modifications, and to see how well the engine has held up. I did alot of backcountry freeriding in the Snowies with Ten High last season and never had a problem keeping up. This sled can climb, jump, and ive even thrown a few wips with it. This is a really fun sled and a great buy for its next owner.......thanks:cool:
