04' 1m chain case

Blew my chain case the other day,Was wondering 8f a case from a 00-06 zr would work? The only difference is the 1m is made of the plastic right? Zr cases ate a dime a dozen,can't find any used mc cases anywhere.

The 1M has a dropped case and I think it would be longer that the zr. I thought that the zr's were DD's by o4 or 5.

04 had the drop and roll along with the 03.5...Pre late model 03 chain cases will not work and they DD made its short appearance in the 1M chassis in 06.

sorry to contradict everyone but any chain case from about 1996 will work if it used the hydraulic brake. The 1M case is not longer, both the drive and jack shafts are dropped and the chain case is the same. There were a few minor differences in mounting holes on some cases but all will bolt up to the 1M. The ZR 900 had the diamond drive from 04 to 06 but not the 1M or Kingcats.

catman would be the one who would know....guess the 02 i tried to put on was something other than they claimed it was.

My 04 chewed up and spit out the plastic piece of garbage a long time ago and I replaced it with a metal one from who knows what. They are all the same as stated above.

Thanks for all the help guys! Just replaced it with a metal one from a 02' zr,bolted right up with no problem...
