Looking for a set of 03 vertical escape stock heads. Wondering if anyone wants to get rid of some? I have some SLP cheater heads on there now but not sure yet what altitude they are for or if they are for twins or single. gonna try to take off this weekend to look at number. I have just the stock exhaust on there right now and ride around 7000 to 8000 ft with 350 main jet, tried the needle in both 1 and 2 position but the sled is loading up and running like crap when I get up to 5 or 6000 ft. Runs a lot better down at low altitude.

just replaced my 03 head with new 04 head to be tototally compatible with my 04 chasis.
I am missing 1 bolt for the 03 head and used the sensor on top with the new 04 head. It does not come with the thermostat but does includ the brass water fitting on the rear of the head. PM me with your email address and i will email you a photo of it. If you think you may want it i can ship it to you for $50 shipping included.
Domes are in great shape with no pitting.

I think your jetting is too rich. I run 360's on a ported twin piped motor with no hood and airpods. At big elevation needles should be dropped 1 position from the middle position. Running better at lower elevation would seem to imply you jetted a bit too rich. I actually dont think swapping heads would impact this issue in any way.

They were. As is the wiring to it, and whick pins the sensor hook to in the cdi box. So if you are trying to run an 03 motor with an 04 wire harness, it will not work! I do have an 03 escape that I'm parting out if you need a wire harness for the 03. Pm me if so. Doubt I'll see this thread again.

Ya, as far as my jetting, I still want stock heads regardless.
I dont believe this is the Escape head. I think it's from a regular Edge model.

Do you have the stock head plate still? You should ever with your cheater head. I believe I still have my stock head out in the garage. You can just plain have it when I get home. That wont be until the 26th of April though.

Yes they are. And a one year run.04 and later use a different one.
Would running 340 or 330 main jets be pushing it for these sleds at stock for 6000-8000 feet? That is what dealer told me.

Sounds about right at that elevation with spring temps. For a baseline, I ran 400's on stock sleds at sealevel down to about -10 to -15. The jetting chart said I should have been running 450's! They were pig rich when jetted per the charts.

The way the DET sensors are mounted, you could just drill a hole in the bottom of the head and tap it. Its nothing fancy and maybe it would a way to save yourself some cash.
