03 1M just did motor change and it backfires and wont run

i bought a fuel pump and regulator last year then blew the motor, i bought a used 800 motor with low miles, it looked real clean, i changed over the stator and V-force 3 reeds, got it back in the sled. i tried to start it and it backfires right from the start. could i have put the stator in wrong???

The flywheel was on a little bit to one side of the key, not sure you I did it but after pulling it apart today I found the problem and now it runs great. Just to let you all know mistakes happen,

hey I bet the flywheel was put on backwards?
