03' 1M - Boondocking following in deep tracks

I've had problems with the handling of the sled during following previous sleds track - usually deeper the worse it gets. The sled tends to go from one side to the other and never down the middle of the track. What can cure this problem? It seems like the front end will just float around and never go down the middle.

Do Powder Pro's help this?
Does a better suspension setup work?
Softer or heavier sping settings?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Never follow in the same tracks unless it is absolutely necessary,, have you ever driven a vehicle in the mud? The RUT affect keeps the track contained in a way that will not allow it to grab traction the way it should. It is nearly impossible to follow someone's trench. You are far better off making your own way than following a rut..

Sometimes you have no choice. I'd rather be making my own trenches all the time. When you are going down a new goat trail, and there's 4-5 of you going through areas that are 6' wide, you have no choice. I'm guessing you might be a trail rider. :face-icon-small-hap

Can anyone else shed some light on the subject? I do know newer chassis are better for following existing tracks. Just though someone might have some beneficial tricks.

Thanks.

If you are following some one you are the trail rider.............
Jump on a newer sled and ride the same tracks as you mention see what you think......

tighten limiter strap to keep front end down, stiffen up front end springs for more stable platform.

What he said. It's never any fun riding in a big rut and the light front of the M1 makes it that much harder. Thats why I always lied and told the guys I knew exactly where to go... I could lead!
