02 zx track changeout.

My 151 is shot and I'm wondering what my best option for a new one is. I'm wondering if i can fit a 159 without extentions and also are there any mods needed to goto a 16 in wide track? I figured i could pick up a takeoff 159x16 fairley easy> let me know thanks

You could run anti-racheting drivers, buy a big-wheel kit, and run the off-set axle backwards so instead of the wheels off-setting to the front they off set to the back, the anti-racheting drivers would allow you to run a looser track. As for the 16 wide, I haven't done it but I guess just a few rivets to grind down a little and a few bolt heads and just make sure to get your alignment right! Good luck!

The 02 ZX had the worst track doo ever produced. I know, I have one. I installed a take off 151 x 16 x 2 from an 05 Rev. Easy to do. Pretty tight fit. Some guys grind a few bolt heads and rivits. I just stuffed it in and ran it. It rubs once and a while in the front. I think on the bolts up front some where. not enough to bother anything. Got about 1500 miles on it with no problems.
I don't ride the ZX anymore but still keep it for a backup sled. The 02 already has the skid setback so you may want to get extensions if you go 159
Anything will be an improvement over the track you are using now.

Crasher, what don't you like about the 02 track? I also have one (it's an 01 but i think they are the same) but that is all i know and never have tried anything else. I think it trenches in deep snow but again i have nothing to compare it to. I would be curious to hear your opinion. thx

I had one also, the 01/02's had the same track. Terrible track IMHO. I switched over to the 2005 151x16x2 and was probably the best single mod I have ever done. In deep snow the old 01/02 track can't even compare.
