i have an 02 rmk 800, and last ride it started acting up at higher elevation. we dump sled at bout 3500 and ride up to 6000 ft. ive got slp single pipe, 10-64 wgts, slp cheater head and 410 jets. Once we get about 1500 ft up from the truck it loses top end about half the time, sometimes i get 8200rpm, others it about 7000. clutch side plug look good jetting wise but non clutch side is black. ideas? thanks

Check your VES valves lately ?
Might be gooded up or have a bad diaphram.

yea, i just cleaned my VES 2 rides ago. Im goin to pull the bellows and see if they're all good.

If secondary is a button, may try tightening the torsion up on the spring. Get the clutch(both) faces cleaned up and make sure the belt is not glazed up or worn out and riding in the secondary right.
Try new plugs and new plug caps. Cut about 1/4" off of the plug wire, before twisting the new plug cap back on.
hey there again, so, tried the new plug caps, one bellows on the ves was blown real bad so i rebuilt both, and cleaned the clutches and threw a new belt on, seems to be goo but will find out in a cpl days when i hit the pow again up high. Thanks for the help so far...!!!
