02 mc 800 efi cuts out

I have a 02 mc 800 efi that cuts out when I hit the 7200 rpm mark. I've cleaned the pv's and it has new pv cables on and has been adjusted every way from sunday, from 1.00 in. to 1.30, the only diff. is it cuts out at alittle diff. rpms. I have swapped out servos w/one that works. Now here's the wierd part, if I punch the throttle wide open it works just fine. It just cuts out if you hold the throttle at approx. 7200 r's. It's like it opens and shuts the pv's constansly if you just hold it at 7200. Where do I look next? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Power valves get blamed for many symptoms but end up usually not being the culprit. I have the same sled and have replaced the stator at 1700 and the tps at 2300 miles. The tps will give you that surging effect. Mine did it as soon as you gave throttle no particular rpm. The stator can also give you different symptoms, mine would not start after shutting it down. I have also heard of the voltage regulator that was the problem for similar running mc800. With the tps you have to have a dealer hook it up to their test gauge to see if its out. Hopefully you have a decent dealer that will do it for you with out charging an hour labor. good luck
