I was wondering how you would go about testing your DPM on a 02 summit 800 if you want to do it yourself?

unplug the solenoid on the dpm manifold from the computer

red and black wire i think..

hook it to a 9v battery and it should click and buzz

if not u need a new soilenoid

there are some other tests aswell..cant remember

02 DPM sucked, unplug solnoid, plug manifold holes in airbox and vent the carbs to the airbox, install Jack Harris Power-jets on carbs, pick main jets for baseline jetting and use power-jets (1/4 turn=1 main size).

Of course, the 02 carbs should have the non-hooded needle jets replaced with hooded ones, and adj. needles also used. Had it done to my sled a few years ago, by Xtreme Performance (carb work), might be easier to find a set of 03 carbs.

I dont know if anything is wrong with it I just want to make sure it works fine before i would go to a higher elevation.

you would know if it wasn't working. you sled would run full rich. if you think it is working and your sled runs good, it is probably working

Ya I'am pretty sure its running richer than it should but I would have to look again to make sure.

Dpm

Ok I tested it with the battery and it does make the clicking noise. But I only get 60 miles per tank so is that good for the 02 800 summits or not. Also what are some of the other test that I can do to it?

Mine ran good for a while too, then seemed to get richer, had bogs off bottom, had xtreme-perf. do their carb tune, got rid of dpm, vented to airbox, installed Jack-Harris Power-jets for compensation, along with a 3-window Digatron, never looked back.
