02 800 x sucking gas

i have a 02 summit x 800 and i only can get about 45 to 55 miles on a tank, so would i need to put differnt jets in even if i have the DPM and i think i have 580 or 540 jets so if i would put smaller ones in what size should i run and my elivation is around 1250 to 1500

I would have your DPM tested to make sure it is working.
Check you choke and make sure the cable is not to tight keeping the choke part way opened.

Before changing the main jets check the color of your plugs.
Also check the piston wash to see how rich the sled is running
