I assume to see if the carbs are "hooded" I would just need to open the throttle and look into them... I have an extra set off the replacement motor I bought (and the original poster was considering buying them). If a person were to switch to the hooded style, what jetting specs would you go with, the 03 non-HO jetting specs? Since the 02 is not an HO motor?02 carb setup sukked bad, get the 03 carbs, they fixed the 03. Put in hooded needle jets, got rid of the 520n jets and lean mid-range cond., better throttle response. Cost me $300+ for the Xteme Perf. carb fix for the 02 to make it run right.

sledhed, did you click on the xtreme-perf. link posted above by v@ilguy?
I would start with the 03 carbs jetting, and adj. accordingly, buy a set of Jack Harris Powerjets, someone else is selling these brass needle valve powerjets also, can't remember who. Ask around these forums.
