This is my first year riding and I am ready for more power but unable to buy a new sled. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get more performance out of my 01 Ski Doo Summit? It has a 151 track with a stock motor and an aftermarket can. Thanks for the input.

Just sold basicly the same sled, you might try some boysen reeds, an slp pipe, and maybe a y-pipe as well! An 8" or 10" big wheel kit should also help! And if you can get the computer re-flashed!!
But i was in the same boat as you bout two weeks ago! this was also my first year and i put all this money into this summit and i still could not keep up with all the new sleds!! So i said screw it and bought a new sled(after i rode all the new sleds picked the one that was best for me, the M8!!) I would sell it and buy a new one, you will be happier then if you put all that money into, trust me on that, i just went through it!!!!! Hope this helps!!!

Not sure, I haven't heard much gain out of a pipe. You can clean up some of the welds on the inside of the Y-pipe. Reeds would be next, now many miles are on it? I rebuilt my motor along with a little portwork and a shaved head, flat out woke the sled up! I'm running RKT's dual ring piston only kit, some port work, and had my buddy with a machine shop knock a few thousands off the head to get the compression back up. Could also look at just getting it to work better, the 01's suffered from a bad attack angle, do a skid setback and run a bigger track if you can! I'm running Pilot 6.9 skis on my 01' and they really helped the sled go through the softer snow, and alot less darting! I have bar risers on mine, because I'm 6'3", may help you. I just got done completely rebuilding mine, I love the zx platform, rode a rev, its a great platform but its not comfortable for me, I'll be riding mine for a while longer!
