i picked up a 01 summit 800 back in sept and freshened up the top end. after opening up the the inside, found out the sled has a shaved head and some mild porting done. also came with aftermarket silencer and a gutted air box. after putting the sled back together, also bought a stock air box and the carbs have the vforce 3 reeds and no boost bottle. took the sled out west in jan for a trip and the first day it ran like crap, after checking plugs and seeing the sled was way rich, we jetted it down from 500 to 480, and seemed to run well there, plugs didnt show any signs after of being too lean or rich.

here is the question. going out west again and the temps on the mtn are supposed to be in the 30's versus in jan the temps were around 0...so am i going to have any issues with the sled being too rich again? and if so, would putting in a 470 jet work? or else any suggestions would be great as well. thanks

I have an '01 800. I am not running the DPM or airbox (running pods) so I'm running 410's. Not sure whether or not it helps. I do remember that I went to Revy with the airbox and DPM and 470's were too rich. You might want to throw in a set of 470,460 and maybe even 450 just for giggles. Hope it helps abit.
