01 rmk tunnel extension ?

I am going from a 151 to 159 and am in need of a tunnel extension.I am going to use a different rear heat exchanger so the question is will a extension from a edge chassis bolt right in.I was thinking of going with something like slp has if it will work.

I put an edge style extension on my 00 RMK. It will work but I think you will have to remove the exsisting 151 extension and rivet the 159 extension in its place. Then you will have two drill 1 hole on each side for the coolant lines. I think I have some pics.

If your sled is an original 151 track, you don't need a new extension to go to the 159. My '01 RMK had a 151 originally and I put a 159 on it and used the original extension. I bent the plastic support under the snow flap backwards and have never had a problem with the flap catching the track.

I know you can put a 156 under a 151 tunnel on the 2001 GenII, so I imagine that the 159 isn't any different. That's only going to move the axle back just over an inch.

I have also done a wongs d&r and the suspension has to go back 2.25 inches on top of the 4 inches that the 159 needs.Still have not recieved my rail extensions but I am sure that I will not work withouy the extension.

We put a 159" and a big wheel kit on my old '01 151" and no tunnel extension. Works great. My buddy that rides it now blew out the main shock in the rear suspension and had no problems from the track hitting, I'd say you should be fine w/o an extension.
