‘24 khaos 850 brakes are soft

What have you guys found as a solution to the less than tolerable brakes on some of the matryx sleds?
I have a 22 boost khaos that has excellent brakes, but my wife’s 24 I will pinch my fingers before I get any brake grab. It’s bad enough I don’t want to ride it. I bled them and only got couple small bubbles and no real change in pull. Is it more likely the caliper or the master cylinder?
Thanks

My 24 was the same. Basically dangerous to ride. Brake lever bottomed on my hand before it would lock up. My dealer put a 22 brake reservoir on it but left the caliper alone. With that and a different brake lever it's about in the middle not as positive as a 21 or 22 but usable and doesn't hit my fingers.

24 brakes suck. That is all.

Replacing with new assembly may be the only option.

Same problem here I’m going to buy the complete 23 assembly next year it’s borderline dangerous

Don't worry, within a year Polaris will issue a stop ride recall for all 24s to replace the brakes... just as soon as everyone who hates them has mitigated their F-up.

Just like the rail tips.

I guess ours has warranty left so I’ll let the dealer take a look at it. It’s gotta have three times the travel in the lever that my ‘22 has. I wouldn’t ride it in the trees the way it is now.

I just replaced my 24 with brand new 23 master cylinder and caliper. I think they've superceded the 23 to 24 specs because it's not much different

I got rid of mine. Completely sucked. Dealer couldn't fix it. Polaris didn’t care. I was over it.
I can’t get rid of it now, I just put purple hood screens in it! Haha

I’ll measure the rotor tonight if I get a chance, wouldn’t be hard to pull pads and measure either. I think it’s something with maybe the piston in the caliper or the master cylinder though.

It isn't the master cylinder. Swapped them. It in the caliper. I think my buddy even measured the rotor and they were the same. His boost is alright. Not like 22 or 23. 9r was exactly like your talking. I even talked to burandt and adams personally. Was just over it. To have a sled that good and a little thing like that makes you not want to ride it just sucks. Combine that with the mountain of recall letters and I was just over it.

These brake problems can only be one of two things ! Either there is still air in the system somewhere or you have a warped rotor !! The last three Polaris I have gotten have been so tight that I find it very had to get enough movement to be able t set the park brake. In fact I broke the brake lever on my 9r trying to get enough movement to set the brake !!

It’s not either of those two. I bled the brakes last year and didn’t change much. We just had dealer look at it cuz it’s still in warranty. They bled the brakes and said they fixed it. They didn’t. Brakes still suck. I haven’t put a dial indicator on the rotor but it still has machining marks in it. I’ll either have to call Polaris, or just put a different master cylinder or caliper, or both on.

Dealer cleaned mine. Bunch of plastic in fluid. Did no good. Talked to Polaris. Did no good. Bled brakes a million times. Did no good. Put a 23 master cylinder on. Did no good. The only thing that worked was selling it. Checked rotor compared to 22 and 23. It's the same. It's in the caliper.

Thanks maybe I’ll switch that first. Gotta be fixable it’s such a simple system.

I ordered new master cylinder and caliper for a 23 model to put on my 24. In my opinion, polaris has now changed something in all calipers because the new ones for a 23 aren't much better than the crappy 24s. There's something in the caliper that pulls the brake pads away from the rotor. Pretty irritating to say the least
