Another successful trip away from the home turf...

Plan was for the Hump but in the AM dark we predicted it would blow out so we turned around after we even had our pick up vechile parked.....

SO we did some catch and release on the most consistent steelhead river in the state;)

I did release what may have been my largest ocean chrome silver in the boat:D And I never knew that this system has this many Kings;)

So you fished the Wynoochee with Jake didn't you. You lucky SOB. you did better than us although we fished the hump with him on Sunday and caught some big silvers and Chums, we could only keep one of the silvers but still had a great day. Nice fish

Yes and first time with Jake, he is filling in for Casey for the next 2 weeks. Plan was the hump with Casey but he signed up for a 2 week deal(full rates and no fishing?). And ended up turning around at the lower drop in on the Hump because it was POORING down.

We did have a few more take downs then you guys but the single barb shorten many take downs on Monday. We also did not land any Kings with Jake, but we did have some chances. Our Kings hooked, landed and released was from the day before. And was the number 1 reason why we changed direction, once we saw the hump condition and heard your guys results from Sunday it was a no brainer....turn around since the nochee hold up good under those condition...

HINT!!!
(At Y, REAL GOOD CHOCKER eggs, no corkie, in the deeeeeepest hole, heavy lead to slow down the drift, thats how we target those early winter runs;))

Did you guy's float all the way down to black creek ? We usually put in at the 1100 rd and use our pontoon boats and float the upper stretch down to the next put in . We've caught a lot of big natives up there.

Nice spotty. I used to live on that river, before the average of 15 boats per float became the norm. When do you need a boat ho to pay for fuel and buy the bait? I think my buddy has now inherited my drift boat after I loaned it to him 4 years ago.
