Speedwerx has designed and now has ready a Tunnel Dump Muffler for Arctic Cat M Series sleds.

One of the primary purposes of the new muffler is to eliminate any bog riders might experience in deep powder when the deep snow plugs up the muffler on stock M Series mountain sleds. Stock Cat mufflers have a small shield that protects the muffler, which exits the sled out the wheel well behind the front suspension, but in deep powder, riders are finding it can get plugged up.

The newly designed Speedwerx muffler exits out in the tunnel, near the right footwell, eliminating the problem of getting plugged up.

An added bonus with the new Speedwerx Tunnel Dump Muffler is a weight savings of 12 lbs. vs. stock.

On a recent ride in southern Colorado with Matt Entz (of Boondockers movie fame) he talked about the Speedwerx Tunnel Dump Muffler that he was testing. “With the stock muffler in deep snow, when I let off and got back into it, I’ve had the sled die,” Entz said. “I’d have to get the sled on the left side to let it clear out and breathe.

“(With the new muffler) I can sidehill and turn to the right without any bog issue. No bog issue. Period.”

Entz said it took him less than an hour to install, even without a template.

The unit pictured is on Entz M8 and is an early prototype. The finished product will be a little more refined.

CRC Industries has introduced a revolutionary new fuel additive that stops the damage caused by ethanol before it starts. CRC Phaseguard4 Ethanol Fuel Treatment provides the maximum protection available for E10 to E85 fuel and helps prevent phase separation*--the No. 1 cause of ethanol fuel related problems.

Ethanol has been wreaking havoc in the gas tanks and fuel systems of boats, autos, RVs, snowmobiles, ATVs, motorcycles, lawn mowers, snow throwers, tractors and more by corroding metal fuel tanks as well as damaging the seals of fiberglass tanks and attacking fiberglass tank composites. Recognizing that many Polaris Assault owners desire better deep snow performance, Tracks USA created an extension package lengthening the stock Switchback Assault 144-inch track to 159 inches. Package components include Tracks USA rail and tunnel extensions and a new Camoplast track made for Polaris Series IV 159 x 2.125 suspension. The complete package for 2011 and newer Polaris 144-inch Switchback Assaults retails for $555.

Tracks USA also has packages to extend the Switchback 144-inch chassis to 151 or 155 inches. The 151-inch package does not require tunnel extensions. The Switchback chassis is the same as the Polaris RMK chassis, so tracks up to 2.5-inch lug height can be used to make both sleds truly deep snow capable.

BRP has added a new medium windshield for the just introduced Rev-XS and Rev-XM platform variations. The windshield is 13.5 inches (34 cm) tall, providing an ideal fit for riders who want a little more protection while maintaining a great look.

The new injection moulded windshield includes side deflectors, which accommodate mirrors and a medium windshield support that completes the kit. It was the winter of 1992-93 when Orion began its first year of production of rescue sleds. Eighteen years later and the company is still manufacturing rescue sleds based on the design of the original rescue sled. Many improvements have been made to its sleds, along with the addition of many options and other off road products for rescue, recreation and utility.

All Orion rescue sleds and trailers feature a patented fully independent Diamond Link suspension. This suspension system compliments the suspensions of all snowmobiles and four wheelers manufactured today.

With the introduction of the Moonwalker series sled, Orion now produces a much more affordable sled exclusively for freight and other cargo. The Moonwalker series sled features a unique suspension that functions as an independent suspension while in motion but is ridged when the sled is standing still.

This is accomplished by its unique skis and mounting pivot points without springs and shocks absorbers.

In late February MotorFist launched its Redline series of performance snowmobile clothing. Looking for a quick way to add hand protection and warmth? The PowerMadd SG1 is a soft-molded handguard that can be attached and removed quickly depending on riding conditions. The SG1 offers significantly more coverage than traditional plastic handguards. It is constructed of lightweight closed cell foam, which is both waterproof and extremely durable. Included is an innovative mounting system that uses the handlebar, wires and cables to secure the guard in place and keep it from rolling on the bars.

Each SG1 handguard is 13x8x2.5 inches and fits ATVs and snowmobiles alike. The handguard securely attaches and will not spin or rotate on the bars. Its unique mounting system is included in the kit.

Starting Line Products now has available a single pipe set for the 2011 Polaris 800 Rush, Assault and RMK.

This new single pipe set from SLP delivers an additional 7.6 hp peak with good midrange gains, which equates to crisp, clean throttle response and quicker acceleration with more top end speed on the trail.

Tom’s Snowmobile offers a rear suspension kit for all Ski-Doo Summits from 2004-11 as well as MX Z (short track models) from 2003-11. The kit includes a Fox Zero Pro rear track shock, coupled with a Float front track air shock. The kit improves the ride over stock or X configuration.

Minnesota-based Speedwerx has developed a supercharger kit for 2010-11 Arctic Cat M Series and Crossfire 800cc sleds.

Do-it-yourselfers rejoice: changing the oil in your Yamaha has become much simpler and quicker with Yamalube’s new Oil Change Kits.

Available at Yamaha dealers across Canada, these “all-in-one” kits include the specified OEM oil, oil filter and gasket for most Yamaha motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, outboards, watercraft and side by sides. Also included are generic oil change instructions, torque specifications and a pair of disposable nitrile gloves.

Zbroz has designed and built a new lower steering post to help improve the steering on Arctic Cat HCR and M Sno Pro sleds.

This lower steering post replaces the stock lower post, adding a huge increase in steering radius. Both the HCR and Sno Pro models do not steer sharp enough for good cornering and counter steering when sidehilling. The new lower post has been tested by Zbroz Racing’s crew and Bret Rasmussen so you know this is a must item for these machines.

This post fixes the steering issue on these Cats without adding any significant steering effort. The post installs simply in about 30 minutes or less for a first timer. It is powdercoated glossy black to match stock hardware and looks good for a long time.

Note that this post causes the spindle to turn sharper, requiring you to grind your spindle to allow it to turn more fully. This can be done with a simple hand grinder without removing the spindle. Also coming soon is a new upper post allowing you to shorten the bar position from stock and rock the bars forward and backward.

The FX spindles are CNC machined from billet aluminum for extreme strength and the ultimate in looks. Spindles reduce steering fatigue, reduce darting at high speed, increase turning radius, all while saving you weight over your stock spindles.
