What Else Is New From Arctic Cat?

It’s a Riot. We’re not sure if it’s literal or figurative … we’ll decide that after we have riot on the Riot.

Arctic Cat has unveiled its new Riot lineup—the Riot and Riot X—and is billing it as a crossover sled that can attack the trails and deep snow.

From what we can tell, the Riot is more designed for the trail and occasional off-trail riding and the Riot X more capable of a 50/50 mix of trail and off-trail. 

The Riot has laydown steering and smaller-lug tracks whereas the Riot X has a vertical steering post and 2.25-inch deep lug tracks.

Here are some details on each:

Riot

  • C-Tec2 8000 engine; 165-class hp 2-stroke (Green/Charcoal) or C-Tec2 6000 engine; 125-class hp 2-stroke (Charcoal)
  • New ARS II Front Suspension with Fox 1.5 Zero QS3 ski shocks (Green) or Arctic Cat IFP 1.5 ski shocks (Charcoal)
  • New lightweight Cross-Action Rear Suspension developed exclusively for the Riot, with Fox 2.0 Zero QS3 rear track shock (Green) or Arctic Cat IFP 2.0 rear track shocks (Charcoal)
  • ProClimb-7 G2 mountain skis
  • Standard with electric start
  • Track: 146-inch with either 1.35- or 1.6-inch deep lugs Cobra

Riot X

  • C-Tec2 8000 engine; 165-class hp 2-stroke
  • Mountain Front Suspension with Fox 2.0 Zero QS3 coil-over ski shocks (Green) or Arctic Cat IFP 1.5 ski shocks (Charcoal)
  • New lightweight Cross-Action Rear Suspension developed exclusively for the Riot with Fox 2.0 Zero QS3 coil-over rear track shock (Green) or Arctic Cat IFP 1.5 rear track shock (Charcoal)
  • ProClimb-7 G2 mountain skis
  • Standard with electric start
  • Track: 146x2.25-inch Peak
