Alpha One Dominates Mountain Lineup

Published in the March 2019 Issue April 2019 Feature

Proven Single-Beam Rear Suspension

This is the signature feature on Cat’s M sleds. Introduced last year, the Alpha One is a single aluminum beam positioned in the middle of the Power Claw track. That allows the track to flex quite a bit and conform to the snow/terrain.

The single beam is not only lightweight but this rear suspension doesn’t collect snow in the rear suspension like conventional dual rail suspensions do. That’s simply because there’s no much there for the snow to cling to.

The Alpha One is constructed from extruded aluminum with magnesium attachment points. The rear suspension also utilizes 10-inch rear idler wheels.

Push-Button Electric Start

The convenience of electric start or the weight savings of non-electric start is an option on many 2020 M Series sleds. Non-electric start models feature a lighter weight seat that also offers rear storage space.

G2 ProClimb-7 Skis

These skis improve balance and flotation, ease steering effort and give more consistent performance in varying snow conditions. Molded in foot traction on the top of the ski adds boot traction and usability for experienced riders. A slightly less aggressive keel shape is what helps the sled have easier steering. The skis taper from 7 inches in the front to 6.5 inches in the middle and were designed to work with AMS (Arctic Mountain Suspension) spindles.
