Here’s a quick look at the six snowmobiles that fall into this unique class of short track long tracks.

Arctic Cat Sno Pro 141. MSRP: $11,099. Weight: 469 lbs. Features: Built on the Ascender Platform with lightweight Ascender bodywork, this sled features a dropped driveshaft to increase track-to-tunnel clearance so the track can scoop the snow and propel the sled through the powder. The clearance also allows Cat to use an 8-tooth drive sprocket that offers a flatter approach angle for better floatability and maneuverability. The Sno Pro 6000 features a C-Tec2 engine with DSI—this is a quick-revving, 125-class horsepower that gets you through the snow. It has a 15x141-inch Power Claw track with 2.6-inch lugs.

Polaris 600 RMK 144. Price: $10,899. Weight: 455 lbs. Features: Designed to be a 50/50 crossover snowmobile, the RMK is built off the lightweight AXYS chassis that features rider balanced positioning for ultimate handling. It offers the 600cc Cleanfire engine with the P-85/Team LWT clutch. It has the 2-inch Series 4 track with Gripper skis.

Polaris 800 SKS 146. Price: $13,099. Weight: 463 lbs. Features: Designed to be the ultimate deep snow crossover sled, the SKS offers instantaneous lift when off-trial in deep snow. The combination of the raised and lightweight AXYS chassis, the powerful Liberty 795cc engine with 3 Stage VES with Smart Actuator exhaust and Walker Evans shocks makes the SKS rock in any type of terrain. It has a 2.25-inch Series 5.2 track with Gripper skis.

Ski-Doo Summit SP 600R 146. Price: $11,149. Weight: 439 lbs. Features: Built on the Rev Gen4 (narrow-design bodywork) chassis, the 600R comes with the Rotax 600R E-Tec engine and pDrive drive clutch with clickers. It also has the QRS secondary clutch and engages at 3,400 rpm. The suspension features the RAS 3 Front Suspension and tMotion rear suspension. It has a 2.5-inch Powdermax II track with FlexEdge and Pilot DS 3 skis.

Ski-Doo Summit SP 850 146. Price: $12,549. Weight: 446 lbs. Features: Built on the Rev Gen4 (narrow-design bodywork) chassis, the 850 comes with the Rotax 850 E-Tec engine with E-Tec Shot starter. It has the pDrive drive clutch with clickers and QRS secondary clutch. The suspension features the RAS 3 Front Suspension and tMotion rear suspension.
