Nailed the landing. Bent a trailing arm.
7. Jump Better
The trick to jumping transitions (from one takeoff lip to a downhill landing spot) is different than hitting a jump with a flat powder landing. For one, you usually can’t see your landing from the takeoff on a transition jump. For two, you normally can’t come up short on a transition jump—but you can on a flat landing.
The trick to a transition jump is to focus on the takeoff and landing as though they were connected with nothing scary in-between. Drive off the face under power, control your attitude in the air by stopping or starting more track rotation, and spot your landing as soon as you leave the lip. Master that and gap jumps will be just a routine part of your line selection.
