“Anyone running an aftermarket muffler should adjust the clutching. You don’t want to run over the stock machine’s recommended peak rpm. An aftermarket silencer like our HPS Lightweight muffler will add a couple hundred rpm to the engine. Instead of going beyond the power curve parameters of the pipe, you’ll want to add a gram or two to the weights in your primary clutch. That will properly load the motor back to its correct peak range.”
